May 2007 - Near Record Attendance at the 2007 Student Awards Dinner
Thank you for making this year's Annual Student Dinner a great success. With over 115 students and members attending, this year's program was the among the highest attended student awards dinner.
The topic for the evening was "Managing Diversity in the Houston Healthcare Market" and the audience listened very attentively to comments from Panelists:
- David J. Fine, MHA, FACHE - President and Chief Executive Officer, St. Luke's Episcopal Health System
- Charles E. Begley, Ph.D. - Professor & Co-Director for the Center for Health Services Research, The University of Texas Health Science Center
- Chanda Cashen, MPH - Director of Cardiology, Texas Children's Hospital
- Paul Shank, MBA, PH.D. candidate - Director, Strawberry Health Center, Harris County Hospital District
The Panel moderator was Elester E. Stewart, RN, MHA, Ph.D. candidate, Administrative Fellow, St. Luke's Episcopal Health System. In addition, after the panelists' discussion, Mr. Fine, announced, in honoring the memory of Dr. Jeptha W. Dalston, that beginning next year the Annual Student Awards & Recognition Program will be renamed as the Dr. Jeptha W. Dalston Annual Student Awards & Recognition Program.
